Many people ask me if sweet potatoes are on the Paleo Diet? And YES! But the amount of them you consume depends on your activity and goals. They are a wonderful starch. I’ve even heard of a book on all of their benefits. But you may want to limit them to maybe once a week, if you are only moderately active. The amount of carbs/fat/protein that you consume TRULY depends on you. You need to do your own experimenting to find this out.

When I was doing ballet 4-5 hours a day during summer workshops, I found myself craving A LOT of carbs. And at the time, I needed them more than I do now. When you find yourself needing carbs due to high activity level, I’d say stick to sweet potatoes, plenty of veggies and fruits. Many people don’t realize fruits and veggies are carbs as well….
