Why slurp a smoothie when you can eat in a bowl, with toppings?! Basically this is my version of chocolate fro-yo or a chocolate frosty.
A few things I can’t live without chocolate… chocolate… my Blendtec… chocolate. There’s also wine, my roommate’s cat, my computer, and Grey’s anatomy. But to keep it relevant to this blog post, chocolate is a MUST in my life.
I love a good chocolate smoothie but smoothies don’t always look as enticing, so I decided to make it into a Paleo Smoothie Bowl and see if you guys liked it. Smoothie Bowls are all the hype right now. They’re gorgeous, delicious, and a great afternoon treat when it starts to get warm outside. Which in Louisiana, it’s 81 degrees today. People are tanning, I’m sweating just walking to class, and a smoothie bowl sounded so necessary today! Oh yeah and the chocolate.
The hard thing about telling you how to make a smoothie is that we all have different blenders. I use a BlendTec and when I make my same smoothie in my parent’s blender it never comes out the same. So take it as you will. If it’s too thin, add more ice! Too thin? Add more water or another liquid (almond milk).
So why a smoothie bowl, over smoothie with a straw? I think it’s because you can add toppings that make it a bit more filling. When I eat a smoothie bowl First I make it pretty, it’s like playing with your food when you were younger. Then when I actually am going to eat it, I mix it all up with a spoon. Last week, I got my wisdom teeth out, so I wasn’t allowed to use a straw. Smoothies with a spoon were my only food for days. Boring I know, but at least I got a new recipe out of it! Comment below with your favorite smoothie combinations.
