Avocado Banana Smoothie

This Avocado Banana smoothie is easy to make and great for breakfast [paleo friendly[Need a pick me up smoothie? This Avocado Banana Smoothie is packed with nutrients to give you an extra energy boost! It’s only 3 ingredients and, like most of my recipes, super simple.

Personally everything I’ve learned about eating healthy is from reading and experience. Juicing has gotten so much hype in the media lately, but sometimes people forget about a good smoothie! There are definitely benefits to keeping the fiber of the fruit or vegetable.

One of my favorite bloggers, Dietician Cassie, writes about the benefits of balanced smoothies versus juicing. I still see benefits of juicing, but I think she makes some great points!

So how easy is this smoothie? Place a banana, an avocado (pitted, of course), 1/3 cup of spinach, and 1/4-1/3 cup of water into a blender, and blend. I chilled mine in the freezer for about 10 minutes before serving. Another option would be to use a frozen banana instead of room temperature.

This smoothie is better eaten with a spoon than a straw; it’s thick and filling, perfect for an afternoon snack.
