There have been many times that I just cannot make it to the gym: too much school work, no access on vacation, etc. Some people cannot afford a gym membership and would rather get fit from home. Whatever the reason may be, sometimes we can’t make it to the gym. But no matter what, you must have a plan! So here’s a plan to workout at home without any equipment- just you and… gravity.
I find it extremely important to build muscle mass. I would rank weight-lifting over cardio any day.
Why should you lift heavy things?
- Muscle reduces your risk of injury and osteoporosis later in life.
- Muscle increases your metabolism
- Weight lifting helps with sleep, blood-sugar control, and mental health.
- Muscle is attractive! DUH…
Women out there reading this, do NOT be afraid to lift. You will not get bulky, and you will thank me later. To all those girls lifting 2 lbs at the gym, I know that you can lift more and you should!
