Grain-Free Banana Bread Recipe

Everyone loves baked goods. Coffee and cake? I think yes. Coffee and banana bread? I think DOUBLE yes!

After going grain-free it's hard to find bread recipes that taste like the real thing. This Grain-Free Banana Bread Recipe is loved by all!

I LOVE this recipe, and you would never believe it’s made with Paleo ingredients- bananas, almonds, & eggs. On Thanksgiving morning its tradition for my mom to make banana bread. Now we make this Grain-Free, Paleoified Banana Bread for Dad and me so we can still enjoy the tradition. It can also be frozen in individual slices for a treat on another day! Whenever we have really ripe bananas that need to be used/eaten, we make banana bread! This Grain-Free Banana Bread Recipe is not my original, we found it from Elana’s Pantry! Elana’s recipes are the BOMB! So please please please go visit her site and tell her you love this recipe.

When looking to lose weight or first adjusting to a Paleo diet, I do not recommend trying to Paleo-ify all your favorite foods. This defeats the purpose of the lifestyle. I include these treats on my blog because I understand some people want to still enjoy dessert without the consequences. I also think these Paleo treats are great for kids. Instead of feeding your kid a packaged treat, try making them homemade grain-free treats, like this Grain-Free Banana Bread Recipe!

 Ingredients:
3 bananas (about 1 ½ cups) mashed
3 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
¼ cup coconut oil
2 cups blanched almond flour
½ teaspoon celtic sea salt
1 teaspoon baking soda

See Elana’s Pantry for the full recipe!

How to Study for Step 1

I must have googled “How to study for Step 1” hundreds of times during my second year of medical school. The test was daunting to me, and all I wanted was to do well enough to have a chance at a competitive specialty, like Dermatology. My goal was to get above a 250 on Step…

It won’t make the same consistency! I’ll post another bread recipe with coconut flour in the future.

I just tried this with coconut flour and it turned out great! I used 1 cup of coconut flour, and doubled the eggs to 6. Also, I added 1 cup of coconut milk (but you can use regular milk too), because coconut flour is really dense! This a great recipe as a base to build on! 😀

I made this yesterday, it was so easy and so delicious. My husband kept saying, “Are you SURE this is paleo?!” I don’t like coconut oil, so I replaced it with grass-fed butter. Yum! Thank you!

I made the bread for a Thanksgiving treat to top of a totally Paleo Thanksgiving dinner…delicious! I made the banana bread, asparagus and cauliflower recipe all from your site! Along with making the avocado eggs for breakfast. My family enjoyed it all. Thanks so much for sharing!
