Motivational Monday: Healthier, Happier Days

By Monica Bravo Leave a Comment

On a week like this week, also known as final exam week, I actually had to dig deep for motivation to blog. All of my energy is currently channeling towards microbes and organic chemistry, but somehow this post is being written. I’ve found myself scheduling out every hour up until finals are over, and one hour was blocked out for Bravo For Paleo.

When my to-do list is never ending and my days are nonstop, I am thankful my body runs on real food. When times are stressful, we can sometimes turn to stressful eating. When I used to eat unhealthy food, stressful nights ended with a box of Cheerio’s sitting next to me (which I ate by the handful). The next day didn’t feel so great, and the cravings came again, even when the stress was gone. Now my relationship with food is dramatically different.

If you can’t find motivation to eat healthier, think about this one important aspect. Your day-to-day life will be easier, and you will feel better. For me this is one of the biggest reasons to live a Paleo lifestyle. I’m happier, more energized, and food is now fuel, not comfort.

If you want more motivational words, look at my eBook. When you buy the eBook you receive 30 days of motivational emails from yours truly!

My past week has been great! In Louisiana, the sun is out and I am finally getting a good dose of Vitamin D. My latest cravings for broccoli and sweet potatoes have not ceased, and my wallet is not complaining. Although I usually meal prep regularly, lately I’ve had some free time and consequently have made 3 trips Whole Foods in just this week. Yes, it’s a guilty pleasure, and WF makes everyone happy.

Motivational Monday: Welcome Aboard Newcomers!

By Monica Bravo Leave a Comment

We all know what comes with the New Year. New goals! It’s my favorite time of the year. It’s the time when you figure out what you’ve been procrastinating all year, and you try to tackle it again. Some people get aggravated with the “New Year gym people” but I get excited. Let’s embrace others progress, not discourage it.

5 Ways to Stay on Track in 2014

Here are 5 tips to make your New Years Resolutions stick.

  1. Find an accountability buddy. Whether it’s your friend, boyfriend, girlfriend, family member, or an online community, you should find someone to be accountable to.
  2. Make an inspiration area. Print out pictures of inspirational quotes, make it your phone background, pin it on a Pinterest board, do whatever you have to to keep yourself inspired through this journey to your goals. Also, make sure the inspiration area is in a place you will see everyday (your mirror is a good place).
  3. Keep a journal. Journal your food, journal how your body feels, journal your exercise.
  4. Look at the positives. It’s all mental. Look at what you can eat, not what you can’t. Make a list of all the positives that come out of living a healthy lifestyle.
  5. Have fun! Try out interesting new recipes. Get your exercise through activities you enjoy.

If you’re looking for extra motivation, go here! When you buy my eBook for $3, you can receive 30 days of motivational emails from me.
