Monica! So fun n good to see you today—I bought some black cherry tea after we spoke but did not get to talk to the gal who makes it…should I keep it in the fridge?
Can you tell me why lentils and beans are not good for you? I’m curious to know. Also grains – some cultures have grains as their staple and have been for many many years – are you saying these people should go paleo too and take ALL grains out of their diets? Quinoa is a staple food for some cultures and it is also full of goodness. It’s a genuine curious question that I’d like to know your opinion on. Thanks.
I am looking to do a post on this soon! I believe if you do well on lentils and beans and have no intestinal issues, they could be fine to include once or twice a week. I will present both sides of the argument in my post. But when it comes down to it, it’s up to how you feel when you eat them.
Hi! I am interested in beginning the Paleo lifestyle. Your introduction lists what foods to eliminate, etc. But my question is about protein? Do you include protein in most or all meals?
Marna, I include protein in most meals from either eggs, chicken, beef, turkey, seafood, fish, nuts, etc. I try and keep about 20-30% of my calories from protein but it varies!
Hi Monica,
I have tried a Paleo diet in the past and was very happy with the results for the most part. Most notably how much moreenergy I had, I no longer was having stomach bloating, and just an overall feeling of wellness. I have not been
able to stick to this diet unfortunately because it caused me to become very constipated. This is a problem I have always had but became worse on the Paleo diet. I have friends who suffered from the same problem, do you have any suggestions? I made sure I was drinking an adequate amount of water but this still did not give me relief.
Hmmm, that’s interesting! Most people say the opposite. For me it’s fixed all my digestive problems. Here’s a link to an article that may help you. I wish I had more personal experience with this but I do not. http://paleoleap.com/dealing-with-constipation/
